Mr. James Stanley “JT” Raven, age 52 of Highway 145, Eastanollee passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A son of Jeanette Locklair Haynie and the late Norman George Raven, he was born in Cobb County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He earned his GED while serving in the military. He had earned his Certificate of Refrigeration, working with several heating and air conditioning companies and later worked with the City of Toccoa. He was a self-employed farmer and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Victor Clarence Raven and Sallie Mae Raven and Oscar Locklair, Sr., by his uncle and namesake, Clarence Stanley Raven and by his aunt, Patricia Williamson.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanette Locklair Haynie of York, South Carolina; two brothers, Todd Raven and Corey Haynie both of York, South Carolina; sister, Rhonda Raven of Rock Hill, South Carolina; nieces, Stacey and Heather Bolin; a number of great-nieces and nephews; and his dog Skip.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 16, 2020, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Cameron Simmons, Jaime, Jason Wilson, Ethan Whitmire, Keith Hill and Derrick Holland.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from noon until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of our community, social distancing must be observed. Interment will follow in the Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. James Stanley “JT” Raven.
