Rex Grogan, age 86, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
Mr. Grogan was born on April 30, 1934, in Dawsonville, Georgia, to the late Homer N. and Anice Parks Grogan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Modree Bowers, Shirley Strong. Joyce Wallace, and Patsy Clegg. Mr. Grogan was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia. He was an United States Army Veteran. Mr. Grogan was very active in his community having served on the Regions Board of Directors, Past-President of the Cornelia Kiwanis, and Boy Scout leader, Troop 24 Mr. Grogan was a retired owner/operator of the Western Auto Store in Cornelia, Georgia, since 1964. He was known as a "world traveler".
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-eight years, Mildred Collins Grogan, of Cornelia, Georgia: daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Tony Addis, Clarkesville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Allison Grogan, Alto, Georgia; brother, Keith Grogan, Gainesville, Georgia; five grandchildren: Ansley Goodman, Toby Addis, Jamie Wilson Kayla Grogan, and Amanda Grogan; three great- grandchildren.
In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines, private family memorial services will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, Georgia.
