Melvin Norman Nelms

Melvin Norman Nelms, age 82, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

Mr. Nelms was born on August 29, 1938, in Haysville, North Carolina.  Melvin was a good ole mountain man, who was known to many as “Boss.”  He worked as a welder at a rock quarry and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Vietnam.  Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Nelms; step-son, Hank Charette

Survivors include step-son and his fiancé, Michael Charette and Donna Owen; step-son, Raymond Anthony Charette, Sr.; step-son and daughter-in-law, Rene “Cotton Top” and Donna Charette; step-daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Tim Brown; step-daughter and son-in-law, Susanne Garner and Jeff Harrison; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; precious fur baby, Sunshine.
