Roger Lamar Payne

Mr. Roger Lamar Payne, 73, of Murrayville passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jason Buffington will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 4, 1947 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Joel Daniel Payne and of Mildred Graham Payne. Mr. Payne was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in the maintenance department at Shasta.

In addition to his father, Mr. Payne is preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Payne.

Mr. Payne is survived by his wife, Laura Davis Payne of Murrayville; son and daughter in law, Kevin and Melissa Payne of Gainesville; daughter, Kristy McFall of Jefferson; son and daughter in law, Kerry and Kelly Payne of Hickory, NC; sister, Brenda Norris of Dahlonega; mother, Mildred Graham Payne of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Chandler McFall, Allie Claire Payne and Graceanne Payne and a number of other relatives.
