Jay Michael “Mike” Jackson of Lawrenceville was born on January 26, 1951 in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of the late Grady and Louise (Allen) Jackson. He spent the first of his childhood years in Vidalia, GA and later moved back to Atlanta. He graduated from North Fulton High School in 1970. He served with the United States Air Force for three years and received his bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Louisville in 1976. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Louise Jackson. He is survived by his 3 children; Joni (Joel) Smith of Monroe, GA, Michael Jackson of Hoschton, GA, Steven Jackson of Canton, Michigan, and sister; Jenny Childs of Vidalia, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Savannah Rutledge, Matthew Smith, Makenzi and Sawyer Jackson, along with nephews, cousins and friends. Mike spent most of his career working in the glass and mirror industry. He worked hard and loved his job. Mike was known for being a loving father and wonderful friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed photography, the outdoors, sports and spending time at his home on Lake Hartwell with his family. The family will receive friends and family at Flanigan’s Funeral Home (4400 South Lee Street, Buford, GA 30518) on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.
