Edisu Pitchford Smith

Mrs. Edisu Pitchford Smith, 84, of Gainesville passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 1, 1936 in Brookton, GA she was the daughter of the late Lewis Barto and Idell Haynes Pitchford. She was retired from Pediatric Associates where she was a bookkeeper. Mrs. Smith was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her sister, Lois Nix; ex-husband, Boyd Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter and son in law, Margaret Renée Smith Carnes (Randy) of Gaffney, SC; daughter and son in law, Debra Denise “Dede” Smith Martin (Gary) of Oakwood; daughter and son in law, Lesha Sue Smith Whorton (Judson Alan) of Hermitage, TN; grandchildren, Alex Martin, Justin Carnes, Jacob Martin, Jessica Carnes, Claire Whorton; great grandchildren, Amelia Martin, Hudson Martin and a number of other relatives.
