Gwendolyn E. Stephens

Mrs. Gwendolyn E. Stephens was born August 26, 1944 in Hoschton, Ga to the late Curfew and Beatrice Smith. Gwen was called home to be with the lord on September 20,2020. Gwen had a loving, generous, and kind heart. She would give you the shirt off her back, should you need it. Gwen was employed for many years at the Hosiery Mill in Gainesville, Ga. Gwen worked hard to provide for her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and wife. Gwen was preceded in death by her husband Willie Stephens; brothers Curfew Smith, Jr. and Kenneth” Jughead” Smith; sisters ruby Stringer, Nancy Johnson, Betty Scott, and Janice Granger. She leaves to cherish her loving memoires three brothers- Ronald Smith and Jimmy Smith of Gainesville, Ga, and Henry Smith of Roosevelt, NY and sister Mary (Zack) Warren of Gainesville, Ga. Gwen is also survived by her loving children Belinda ( Gary) Jackson of Dahlonega, Ga, Anthony (Michelle) Stephens of Gainesville, Ga, Greg ( Deidra) Stephens of Gainesville, Ga, and Darrin ( Sheila) Stephens of Gainesville, Ga 17 grandchildren and a host of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special uncle Jimmy Finch of Columbus, Ga, C.H. Finch of Gainesville, Ga. The visitation will be held Thursday, September 24th, 2020 between the hours of 12-8pm at Wimberly Funeral Home. Mrs. Stephens' Celebration of Life will be Friday September 25th at Alta Vista Cemetery at 1pm. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
