James Lee Whidden age 56 of Gainesville passed away Monday Sept. 14, 2020 on his 56th birthday at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Winder after a six-year battle with stage four colon rectal cancer.
Mr. Whidden was born Sept. 14, 1964 in Columbus, GA to Jack David & JoAnn Lee Whidden. He worked with Scientific Games and enjoyed officiating Soccer with the United States Soccer Federation. He enjoyed riding his Goldwing Motorcycle, snow skiing, fishing & gardening. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Ralphene Lee; great grandma, Sabara “Baba” Yates; great grandfather, Homer Yates.
Survivors include, wife, Lucinda Whidden; son, Alex Whidden; daughter, Allison Whidden; parents, Jack & JoAnn Whidden; brother & sister in law, Jerry & Susan Whidden; niece, Morgan Whidden; grandfather, Don Lee; father in law, Harold Pinson; mother in law, Cindy Quaife; sister in law, Melissa Montgomery. He also leaves behind may aunts, uncles, cousins & many other family members.
Memorial services will be private at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kathy Lamon officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
