Harold Hoyt Day, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday September 12, 2020 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Harold was born November 28, 1940 and spent most of his life in Cumming. He had been a resident of Dawson County for the past 15 years. A member of Haw Creek Baptist Church, he attended Forsyth County High School and Georgia Academy For The Blind in Macon. For many years he helped his brother in his wood working shop. Harold always enjoyed spending time with his family and was always up for an adventure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Martha Day, and a sister, Linda Turner.
Surviving are his sister and brother in law, Helen and Buford Gann; brother and sister in law, Lamar and Vanessa Day, all of Dawsonville; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 13, 2020 at 4 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Scott Sorrells will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday.
A graveside service will be held on Monday September 14, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Haw Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Austin Seitz will officiate.
