Fred Mitchell Harkins

Mr. Fred Mitchell Harkins, 68, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Garner, Rev. Ken Garner and Rev. Jeff Garner officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9^th at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Born on October 2, 1951, he was the son of Sara Ivey Harkins and of the late Benjamin Harkins. Mr. Harkins was a veteran of the United States Army, he was retired and a member of Central Baptist Church.

Mr. Harkins is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Harkins of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Candy and Nicholas Bolden of MS; daughter, Niki Mincey of Dawsonville; son and daughter in law, Chris and Stacey Harkins of Gainesville; son, Jody Harkins of Gainesville; mother, Sara Ivey Harkins of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Benny Harkins of Gainesville, Larry Harkins (Nancy) of Gainesville, Ronnie Harkins (Margaret) of Gainesville, Phillip Harkins (Shella) of Cumming, David Harkins (Sandy) of Gainesville and a number of other relatives.
