Charles Farrell Irvin, age 76, of Demorest, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 05, 2020.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on December 27, 1943, he was a son of the late Emory Pinkney & Ollie Mae Gunn Irvin. Charles worked for the Department of Pardon & Parole Board and retired with many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed spending precious time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. Charles was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed flower gardening, landscaping his yard, keeping up with his fish pond, & morning outings with his friends at the Breakfast Club at the Stew & Que Restaurant in Baldwin. He was a member of the Mt. Airy Masonic Lodge #141 F& A.M. for over 48 years. Charles was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church where he was active part of the Good News Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Trevor Goodson; brothers, James “Bo” Irvin, Bobby Irvin, Maxie Irvin, & Jerry Irvin.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Dolores Wiley Irvin of Demorest, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Randy Goodson; son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Carol Irvin all of Alto, GA; grandchildren, Tanner & Brittany Goodson & their daughter, Eloise of Suwanee, GA; Nathan & Kellie Shewbert & their son, Bryson of Cleveland, GA; Tyler & Whittney Goodson & their sons, Asher & Thatcher of Alto, GA; Taylor Goodson of Commerce, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Marviene & George Dean; brother, Tommy Irvin all of Clarkesville, GA; sister-in-law, Edith Irvin of Cornelia, GA, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Todd & Kay Wiley of Cleveland, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 08, 2020 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Dr. Brian James & Mr. Todd Wiley officiating. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery with Rev. Terry Rice officiating at the graveside. Masonic rites will be provided by the Mt. Airy Masonic Lodge #141 F & A.M.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
