Mary “Margo” Brown Williams (71 years of age) passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on August 25, 2020 in Cumming, GA. She was born to the late Charles and Leoma Brown in Bardstown, Kentucky on January 14, 1949. She was a graduate of Bethlehem High School in 1967. Margo moved to the Atlanta area to help open Northside Hospital in 1970. She was a medical transcriptionist who worked at numerous hospitals over the years. Upon her retirement she was a transcriptionist for the radiology department of North Fulton Hospital.
Margo was married to Kenneth Paul Williams in 1972 and they enjoyed thirty eight years together until Ken’s death in 2010. They have one daughter, Kelli Tolbert. Kelli is married to Scott Tolbert and together they have their son, Brandon. Brandon and his Gigi had a very special bond that only a Gigi and her grandson can have. Brandon says that his Gigi taught him a lot, she was kind and she was his best friend.
Margo was the life of the party wherever she went. She was a good friend to all, a great mom and a fantastic Gigi. She is survived by her daughter Kelli Tolbert, her son in law Scott Tolbert and her grandson Brandon Tolbert. She is also survived by her siblings, Charles Brown and his wife Judith in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Martha Vissman and her husband Mike in Lakewood, Colorado; Jim Brown and his wife Peggy in Bardstown, Kentucky; along with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three fur kids who loved her dearly, two dogs named Obi and Tyson along with a fat cat Pippi, aka Miss Priss.
Visitation will be held at Ingram’s Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Funeral Services will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd in Cumming, GA at 1:00 PM. Margo will be interred at Sawnee View Memorial Garden in Cumming, GA. The service at Good Shepherd will be online through their Facebook page for social distancing purposes.
