Mary Ellen (Hicks) Thomason

Mrs. Mary Ellen (Hicks) Thomason, age 72, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.

Mary was born November 13, 1947 in Gainesville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Hicks, Sr. and Lillie Mae (Patterson) Hicks. She was instrumental in the founding of  “We Care”, an organization to help provide Christmas for underprivileged children.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomason. Mary is survived by her children, Vicky and Rex Pressley, Vanessa Brooks and Stephen Kish, and Vandora and Steven Bell; grandchildren, Allen, Valorie and Vivica Pressley; Macy, Melanie and Danielle Brooks; Tristian and River Bell; great-grandchildren, Violet and Jaxon and a number of other family and friends also survive.
