Karin Mickan Janik, age 78, or Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of family on Sunday morning, August 23rd. Born January 7th, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Ernst Mickan and Kathryn Mickan.
Karin was a loving wife and mother as well as a beloved friend to many. She loved not only to read and had a heart for helping others. She was a 20+ year volunteer at The Place of Forsyth County and also volunteered with various adult literacy programs.
She is survived by his two children: Jessica Janik Lorenz and husband Timothy Lorenz of Cumming, Georgis; Jarett Janik and wife Janphen Trathip Janik of Austin, Texas; niece Jennifer Mickan Martin and husband Butch Martin of McHenry, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Sydney Harvey, Cassidy Harvey, Alexander Janik, Christian Janik and Nicholas Janik; and many other loving relatives.
Memorial services for Karin will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 29th, 2020 at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Georgia 30040. Karin has chosen to be cremated and his family will lovingly return her ashes to some of her favorite places.
