Milledge Harold Smith

Mr. Milledge Harold Smith, age 77 of Whitworth Circle, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his residence.

A son of the late Milledge Haskell and Gladys Martin Smith, he was born May 1, 1943 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was retired from Stone Manufacturing with 35 years of service and later with Hartwell Sports. He loved the Lord and attended The Pointe. He loved gospel music, antique cars and the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jimmie Ruth Smith Hallford and Betty Jo Smith Gnatt.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Johnie Sue Vickery Smith; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy Wayne (Marcy) Gibson of Owosso, Michigan and Teddy Lamar (Deanna) Gibson of Lavonia, Georgia ]; grandchildren, Deven and James Morel, Brittany and Jake Harris and Katelyn Canady; sister and brother-in-law, Effie and Lewis Hawkins of Toccoa; niece, Mersia (John) Velebir.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2020, 2 o’clock p.m. at The Pointe with The Reverend Chad Smith and The Reverend Jerry Chitwood officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Roger Craven, Mike Kesler, Tommy Sheriff, Mike Cothran, Grady Brawner and Jake Harris.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Due to the current health conditions of our community, social distancing must be observed. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Confidence United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Milledge Harold Smith.
