Robert B. Naylor, 93, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday August 11, 2020. Son of Harold and Genevieve Naylor, was born in New York, NY, and resided in Rockville Center, New York until he entered the Manlius Military Academy. Soon after graduating from the Academy in 1944, Robert entered Cornell University, graduating in 1950.
Soon after completing his degree, Bob entered the Army and in 1951 he married Laura Rybka, a native of Chicago, IL. After 9 years in Chicago, Bob and Laura moved to Glenview, IL where they resided for 26 years. Over the course of 19 years together, they had 2 sons and 5 daughters.
During the next 10 years, Bob and Laura lived in Orlando, Florida until his retirement from A. Duda and Sons in 1988. At this time, he and Laura moved to Dahlonega, Georgia where they have spent his retirement as active members of St. Luke's Catholic Church. With music as a passion of his lifetime beginning in his youth, he and Laura sang together in the choir for 12 years.
Bob was married to Laura for 68 years and died a tired but happy man at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife, Laura, and his sons Brian Naylor, James Naylor, and his five daughters Geralyn Murray, Loretta Tselikis, Evelyn Ulivieri, Roberta Lyon, and Paula Hicks. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday August 17, 2020 at St. Catherine Laboure, 3535 Thornwood Ave. Glenview, IL., interment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
