Lloyd Wayne Young

Mr. Lloyd Wayne Young, age 96, of Sautee Nacoochee passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020.  

Mr. Young was born on January 22, 1924, to the late Oscar D. Young, Sr. and Edna Lee Harris Young. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Ellen Young; daughter Alicia Young Carroll; and four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Young was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Gainesville for 50 years where he played the guitar.

Survivors include his wife Marcia Beden Young; daughter and son-in-law Karen Ellen and Kenny Pair of Gainesville; step-sons and daughters-in-law Grant and Tiffiny Nickerson of Sautee Nacoochee, Gary and Amber Nickerson of Dahlonega, and Mike and Stacy Nickerson of Royston; and eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. Pastor Heath Modisett, Rev. Garland Driver, Rev. Curtis Moose, and Rev. Timothy Griffin will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
