Charles “Charlie” Iler

Mr. Charles “Charlie” Iler, 69 of Gainesville, Ga passed away on Sunday August 2, 2020. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday August 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Darryl Womack and Ken Ausborn will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 04, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 Charlie was born on June 22, 1951 in Gainesville, GA to the late Jake and Eunice Iler. He was retired from Big Star/A & P, MD Building Products, and was currently employed at the City of Gainesville (Hall Area Transit). He was an active member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church where he was a devoted member of the Men of Iron. 

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Iler, James Iler, and Leon Iler, and sister, Karol Iler.

Mr. Iler is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marie Iler of Gainesville, GA , sons and daughter-in-law’s, Chad and Angela Martin of Dahlonega, GA, and Blake and Jessica Martin of Dawsonville, GA, grandchildren, Anna Martin, Austin Martin, and Layton Martin, sister, Kathy Gilstrap of Gainesville, GA, and a host of other relatives.

 In his free time Charlie enjoyed playing golf, watching NASCAR, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He also enjoyed weekend trips to the mountains and spending time with his family.

Gainesville, GA 30501 Men of Iron in memory of Charlie Iler. Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504 is in charge of arrangements.
