Dorcas Barrett McGinley

Mrs. Dorcas Barrett McGinley, 83, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Born on February 26, 1937 in Hamilton Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Ethel Barrett. Mrs. McGinley was retired from Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she worked in housekeeping. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGinley is preceded in death by her husband, Bernie McGinley; son, Michael Edward McGinley and daughter, Jan Bryant.

Mrs. McGinley is survived by her daughter, Teresa Mary Smith of Gainesville; sons, Edward McGinley of Oakwood, Patrick B. McGinley (Kelly) of Gainesville; grandchildren, Kasey Smith, David McGinley, Logan Gonzalez; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Lowell Barrett of Las Vegas, NV; brother in law, Jack McGinley of Allentown, VA; sister in law, Jeanine Barrett of Fairfield, OH and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Cancer Society 2565 Thompson Bridge Rd. Ste. 114 Gainesville, GA 30501.
