Katherine "Kit" Rogers

Mrs. Katherine “Kit” Rogers of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Kit was born in Miami, Florida to the late James and Sadie Johnson. After graduating from Florida State College in West Palm Beach, Florida, she worked at hospitals in Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. Kit moved to California in the 1960’s where she continued to work in the medical field, supervising the cytology lab at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in Sn Jose, California, for 16 years. It was there she met and married her husband, John M. Rogers, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

Kit will be remember for her intelligence, her dry wit and her wonderful artistic abilities. She created beautiful works of art in watercolors, pastels, colored pencils and pen and ink.

She is survived by two special caregivers, Carolyn Cothran and Barbara Teague who thought of her as a second mother rather than a patient.
