Mr. Howard Rufus Jordan, age 88, of Shawnee Drive, Martin passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
A son of the late Walter Frank Jordan and Mary Lou Standridge Jordan, he was born August 26, 1931 in Gwinnett County, Georgia having lived in Decatur for a number of years and the last 46 years in Martin, Georgia. He was retired from General Motors with 30 years of service, was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the UAW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wynette Parker Jordan, by a son, Richard Howard Jordan, by a daughter-in-law, Madelyn Jordan, and by a great-granddaughter, Fallon Avery Warren.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Richard Warren of Martin; son, Tim Jordan and Pat Fields of Villa Rica, Georgia; grandchildren, Nathan and Michelle Jordan, Jennifer and Nick Dawes, Dustin and Sundee Warren, Daniel and Haley Warren, Lesley and Matt Klopson, Jill Jordan and Ryan Mumbower and James (Tim) Jordan, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Gage Jordan, Emma Jordan, Allison Dawes, Gavin Dawes, Isaac Warren, Heidi Warren, Lauren Warren, Isla Warren, Luci Warren, Sailor Jordan, Brock Mumbower, and Dash Mumbower.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 31, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Decatur, Georgia with The Reverend Tom Harris officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Nathan Jordan, Dustin Warren, Daniel Warren, and James (Tim) Jordan, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, from 9.a.m. until 10 a.m. Due to the current health conditions of our community, social distancing will be observed. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Howard Rufus Jordan.
