Melvin Jackson 68, passed away on Wednesday July 22nd 2020. He was born August 6, 1951 to Annie J. Jackson. In his early years he served in the United States army afterwards Melvin was employed with M.T. Sanders furniture store for many years. He eventually became employed with Wayne farms where he retired.
Melvin was married to the late Mera Daniel who proceed him in death.
All who knew Melvin, knew he loved to have fun. He loves sports and his hats , especially Kangol.
Along with his mother and wife, Melvin is also preceded in death by five brothers: Cecil Jackson, Donald Jackson, Eddie Jackson, Leroy Jackson and Bobby Sims; also two sisters, Marilyn Jackson and Jean Tarpkins.
Survivors include: one stepson Maurice” Wilie” (Guyre) Sanford, two grandsons Marques (Merricka) Sanford and Jacques (Trisha) Sanford. Four sisters Annie ( Willie) Hughey, Mary R. Jackson, Carolyn Watson, Johnnie (Ted) Mosley and one brother, Wilmer “Roscoe” Jackson, and one brother in law Rev. L. Tarpkins, as well as great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The service for Mr. Jackson will be Tuesday July 28 at 1pm Graveside at St. Paul First Baptist Church. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
