Rev. Jerry J. Mauldin, 76, of Gainesville passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Barbara Nash will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Born on January 19, 1944 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late Marion Luther and Mellie Virginia Head Mauldin. Rev. Mauldin was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea. Rev. Mauldin was in the construction business for 55 years. He was the founder of the Bethel Baptist Church and also the Rejoice Worship Center where he pastored for 34 years. Jerry loved Rejoice Worship Center where he was always striving to make the church a better place of worship.
Rev. Mauldin was a loving husband and father and also he loved playing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Rev. Mauldin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pelma “Pam” Mauldin of Gainesville; daughters and sons in law, Kelly and Chris Jones of Dahlonega, Delesia and Charles Steedley of Flowery Branch; son, Bryan Mauldin of Dahlonega; Torona Spear a very loved member of family; grandchildren, Abby Leonard (Dusty), Taylor Jones (Ashley), Ashley Cain (Channing), Trent Reed, Dusty Reed (Lexy) Damion Mauldin; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Malinda Mauldin of Flowery Branch; brothers and sisters in law, Larry Mauldin of Gainesville, Michael and Roseanna Mauldin of Braselton. Stanley and Deborah Mauldin of Gainesville, Greg and Sharon Mauldin of Gainesville and a number of other relatives.
