Rex M. Watson

Rex M. Watson, 86 of Gainesville passed away Thursday July 16, 2020 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Watson was the son of the late Frank and Audrey Tumlin Watson.  He was retired from the City of Gainesville where he worked as a construction supervisor for the Water Department.  Mr. Watson was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Gwen Watson, Gainesville; son, Donnie Watson, Gainesville; grandchildren and spouses, M.J. and Robin Watson, Homer, Ga.; Breanna and Justin Samples; Jennifer and Chris Briscoe; Jessica and Craig Sauls, all of Gainesville;  10 great grandchildren; Christopher, David, Michaylia, Carigan, Colby, Caden, Corbin, Dixie, Case, and Crew. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Watson is preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike Watson and brothers, Frank Watson, Jr., and Max Watson.

Graveside services will be held Monday July 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Memorial Park Cemetery.  Rev. Matthew Vandegriff and Rev. Scott Wilson will officiate.  The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
