James Andy Tankersley

Mr. James Andy Tankersley, age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Bell Minor Nursing Home following an extended illness.

          Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Dwayne Wellborn will officiate.

          James was born on January 12, 1935 in Gainesville, Ga to the late H.G. “Doc” Tankserlsey and Sarah Hudgins Tankersley. He was retired from Southern Heritage Bank with 40 years in the banking industry, and was of the Baptist Faith. James served in the United States Army as a veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid Golfer and loved to play. Mr. Tankersley is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Cameron.

          James is survived by his children, Angie Parker (Jeff), Tim Tankersley (Lisa), Chris Tankersley (Chessie), Andy Tankersley (Brittany) and Sara Beth Barger (Shea), and his sisters, Charlotte McClure (Morris) and Rhonda Brown (Cleve).
