Margie York Rabb of Baldwin, Ga., went to her Heavenly Home on July 1, 2020.
Mrs. Rabb was born on September 17, 1934, in Habersham County, Ga. to the late Joseph and Lillian Waldon York. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 55 years, the late Clark Logan Rabb. Margie was a petite woman with a big heart for everyone she met and always offered a sweet word and gentle encouragement when needed. She was an avid reader, enjoyed trips to the NC mountains and dinner dates with her late husband. Her heart was for her four daughters and their spouses, Wanda and Wayne Thompson of Cornelia, Ga., Kathy Morrison Collins of Demorest, Ga., Debbie and the late John Travan of Charlotte, NC, and Patricia Rabb of Ooltewah, Tn. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her delight, and their presence was her joy. She was of the Baptist faith.
For the past two years, she resided at The Oaks Scenic View Assisted Living in Baldwin, Ga. She made many precious friends there including both residents and staff. She enjoyed attending religious programs, getting her hair and nails done, and playing Bingo. Her family is grateful for the kindness and care the staff extended to Margie.
Margie is survived by three sisters, one brother, and their spouses: Lessie Finnigan of Mayfield, Ky., Hilda and Fred Mewborne of Mt Airy, Ga., Betty Gulledge of Helen, Ga., and Lloyd and Mary York of Eastanollee, Ga. She was a beloved aunt of several nieces and nephews that will hold her in their hearts.
Margie was preceded in death by four sisters, Minnie Payne, Frances Umbehant, Dot Umbehant, and Linda Ledford, as well as, three brothers, Joe York, Larry York, and J.D. York. She was anticipating a great homecoming with them.
Margie York Rabb will be greatly missed as she was greatly loved.
