Connie Loggins Broome

Obituary Date: Monday, June 29, 2020

Mrs. Connie Loggins Broome, 74, of Lula passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. Rev. Bobby Griffin, Rev. Dewayne Ryals and Rev. Fred Patton will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 and on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. each evening.

Born on October 7, 1945 in Demorest, she was the daughter of the late Fred Loggins and the late Bertha Loggins Gragg and her husband Homer Gragg. She worked for Square Deal Tax Service and she was a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. She was a faithful church attendee who loved her church and church family very much.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Broome is preceded death by her husband, Dan Broome, also the children’s fathers, Buford Anderson and F.J. McDougald, Jr; son and daughter in law, F.J. “Hippy” McDougald, III and Wanda McDougald; great granddaughter, Madisyn Nicole Buffington; sisters, Altonia Eason, Willie Mae McDougald, Ondia Dodd; brothers, Olin Loggins, O’Brien Loggins and Elmo Loggins.

Mrs. Broome loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart. She will be greatly missed by them all. She dedicated her whole life to her kids, grandkids and family. She was the best mama and nana in the WHOLE world. Everyone who met her said she was a blessing.

A loving and caring mother, Mrs. Broome is survived by her daughter and son in law, Candy Anderson Brown and Vince of Flowery Branch; daughter and son in law, Penny Anderson White and Jerry of Gainesville; daughter, Tammy McDougald Bridges of Lula; son and daughter in law, Jordy McDougald and Amy of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
