Nan McCoy Brown

Mrs. Nan McCoy Brown, age 90, of Commerce, GA died Monday, June 22, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta, GA.  Mrs. Brown was born in Banks County, GA to the late Hoyt and Burress Gailey McCoy.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Commerce and a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Truitt Brown.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her sons, Dennis Truitt Brown (Darlene) and Neal McCoy Brown (Charlene) both of Commerce; daughter, Beth Brown Robertson (Wayne) of Valdosta; sisters, Mary Gellerstedt of Atlanta and Jimmie Banks of Commerce; grandchildren, Michael Brown, Brandon Brown, Kellie Daniel, Dean Brown, Deanna Glenn, Miranda Robertson and Christi Chambers; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Brown, Tucker Brown, Walker Brown, Cannon Brown, Baylee Brown, Rowan Daniel, Bristol Brown, Gunner Glenn and Graycie Glenn.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Friday, June 26 at First Baptist Church of Commerce with Rev. Wayne Robertson and Dr. Carlton Allen officiating.  As recommended by the CDC and the State of Georgia, please consider maintaining a social distance of six feet and wear a protective mask .Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1 PM until the service on Friday.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Commerce Building Fund, 1345 South Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529 or Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 2604 Bemiss Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
