Phillip Dwayne Young, 35 of Gainesville, GA departed this life on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Phillip Young was born on September 9, 1984 to Regina Young Dryden and Jimmie Lee Jackson both of Gainesville, GA. Phillip was an all-state defensive lineman and heavy weight state semi finalist wrestler for the Red Elephants. Phillip played collegiately for Western Carolina University. Phillip was a English major, a self-educated religious scholar and a Hebrew Israelite enthusiastic. Phillip was truly devoted to enlightening his peers. Phillip was the definition of real. He was a music lover, a lover of people, and the life of the party. Phillip would have given you the shirt off of his back and fought you in the same hour. He was one of the biggest, baddest teddy bears Gainesville has ever seen; the man, the myth, the legend, Phillip Dwayne Young will truly be missed.
Phillip was preceded in death by uncle George Randy Jackson.
Phillip is survived by his parents Regina Dryden (Fitzroy) and Jimmie (Erica) Lee Jackson; two sisters: Courtney Young of Gainesville, GA, Audrianna Jackson of Gainesville, GA; five brothers: Jimmie (Natesha) Lorenzo Jackson of Gainesville GA, Terrell Lampkin of Gainesville, GA, Joshua Jackson of Phoenix, Arizona, Caleb Jackson of Gainesville, GA, Tray Malone of Gainesville, GA; step siblings: Brandon (Docoina) Young and Krystaline Williams and a host of aunts, two living uncles, and a ton of cousins and very special friends. Phillip was never married or had any children. He would tell you his children were his niece and nephews: Nyla Jackson, Jr. Jackson, Dayshun Summerour, Nasir Summerour and Julius Jackson.
