Jack R. Roper

Jack R. Roper, age 78, of Cumming, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020.  Jack was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church since 1962 and was Ordained as a Deacon in 1986. He had served as the Sunday School Superintendent twice, involved in numerous activities within the Church and enjoyed singing in the adult choir. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and dearly loved his family. He worked in the automotive Parts industry for 41 years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Pearl Roper; 2 brothers, A. B. (Sue) Roper, Jr., Mack Roper; 2 sisters, Annie Mae (Rev. J. T.) Hollingsworth, Joyce (Troy) Frix; sister-in-law, Virginia Roper; brother-in-law, Billy (Frances) Hawkins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sherman and Lorene Padgett.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda Padgett Roper of Cumming; sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Tracy Roper of Cumming, Kevin and Angelia Roper of Waleska; brother, Talmadge Roper of Atlanta; sister, Jean Hood of Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Bea Roper of Cumming; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rev. Johnny & Betty Padgett of Cumming; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Linda & Jack Pritchett of Cumming; grandchildren, Brandi & Brad Dorsey, Evan & Cole Roper, Kiersten Roper & fiancé Joe McCann, Jr., Carson Roper and Carson Cameron: great grandchildren, Braxton Roper, Braelen & Harper Dorsey, E.J & Henley Roper, Joevonni & Kierah McCann; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 21^st at 2:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Nix, Rev. Johnny Padgett and Rev. Johnny Purcell and Rev. Todd Christopher officiating. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday, June 19^th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Saturday, June 20^th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am until hour of service.
