Anna Lee Cox

Anna Lee Cox 96, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Ann was a woman who loved her family.  She was a true prayer warrior and prayed for each of them every day.  She loved having family visit and always made room for one more.  One of her joys in life was to play board games with the grandkids.

She loved her church and the Lord Jesus and was always active in her local church.  As she grew older and was unable to participate in many activities, she devoted more time to praying for others.

Poetry was a lifelong passion.  If you read her poetry you would understand her love for the Lord and her family.

Ann didn’t get her driver’s license until she was 64 years old.  Prior to that she walked everywhere…church, school conference, work, etc. 

While she will be missed here by those who love her dearly, we know that she is rejoicing at the feet of Jesus today and we will see her again.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Fred James Cox; daughter; Connie Kay Cox; brothers and sisters; and her grandson; Ben Cox.

Anna is survived by her children; Fred Cox Jr, (Barbara) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; Sue Meacham (David) of Cumming, Georgia; Joyce Evans (Delbert) of Sun City, Arizona; Bill Cox (Lois) of Ocala, Florida; Sandy Bain (James) of Forest City, North Carolina; and Charlie Cox (Cherie) of Eaton, Colorado.

Anna also leaves behind 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 2:00pm with Dr. Jamie Archer and Dr. David Meacham officiating.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Anna’s name to the Cumming Baptist Church Mission Fund.
