Randall Charlie Howard, 77, of Canton passed away Monday, June 15, 2020. A native of Forsyth County, Randall served as a Reservist in the Air National Guard. He retired after 29 years of employment with General Motors. He and his wife also owned and operated Thornton Hardware. In his leisure time, Randall enjoyed restoring furniture and old vehicles. He had an uncanny ability to repair and repurpose almost anything. He was most content being outdoors wielding a chainsaw or tending his cows on the farm in Ellijay. Randall was an active member of Haw Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie W. Howard and Fern Westray Howard.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mildred Howard; children, Curt Howard, Lori (Eddy) Logan, Brett (Laura) Mulkey; grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Cursten, Joshua, Molly, Allee, Noah, Grayson, Reagan and Benjamin; siblings, Vera (Harold) Green, Hugh (Patricia) Howard, Brenda (Larry) Wallace, Charlotte (Marcus) Satterfield; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Vaughan and Rev. Roger Shadburn officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
