Norma Jarrard Roper, 87, of Gainesville passed away Sunday June 14, 2020 at her residence. Norma was born in Gainesville on September 30, 1932 to Wesley Levi and Gertrude Kiser Jarrard.
Norma was a lifetime resident of Gainesville, graduated from Gainesville High School in 1949. She was a graduate of North College in 1953 and worked alongside her husband in the family business of Roper's Inc.
Norma is preceded in death by parents Wesley Levi and Gertrude Kiser Jarrard, her son-in-law Daniel O'Neal Carter and her brother-in-law Billy Eugene Martin.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, David Donald Roper Sr., they were married on February 7, 1953 in Gainesville. Norma is lovingly remembered by her daughter Donise Roper Carter of Lilburn and son David Donald Roper Jr., of Atlanta, grandson; David O'Neal (Brittany) Carter of Loganville, grand-daughter; Lauren Roxane Carter, partner Kristie Workman of Smyrna, GA., great-grandchildren; Dylan O'Neal Carter of Loganville, and Daniel Bryce Carter of Smyrna, GA.
Norma is also survived by her loving sister Margaret Jarrard Martin of Gainesville, nephew; Wesley Eugene (Greta) Martin, of Gainesville, niece; Angela (Nick) Martin Massengill of Marietta. And many other great-nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A private family graveside service will be held on Wednesday at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday June 17, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
