Jerome Carlyle

Jerome Carlyle, age 78, of Clarkesville, Georgia went to his heavenly home on Friday, June 12, 2020.

Mr. Carlyle was born on April 20, 1942 in Jackson County, Georgia to the late James Hubert and Azzie Dalton Carlyle. He was retired from Clarkesville Mill with 40 years of service. Mr. Carlyle was a United States Army Veteran. Jerome enjoyed spending time working to fix things for anyone that needed his help. He was know as "Papa Rome" and "Jomie" to his grandchildren who he loved very much.

Survivors include his loving wife, Evelena Carlyle, of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Tammy Carlyle, of Cleveland; daughter, Kim Carlyle, of Clarkston; grandchildren, Jessica Burnett, of Clarkesville; Ashlie Peck, of Ft. Campbell, KY; Taylor Carlyle, of Cornelia; Chloe Henderson, of Sharon; and great-grandchildren, Skyla Burnett, Taylen Burnett, Colson Burnett, Baylie Peck; and brother, Kenneth Carlyle, of Cleveland.

A Drive in Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Demorest City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends through a "pull through" visitation from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., on the front porch of the funeral home.
