Ruby Nell Maddox

Ruby Nell Maddox was born on May 26, 1924 in Gillsville, Georgia to the late Newton Cox and Minnie Cox. She departed from her earthly life and into her heavenly home on June 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Maddox; children, Rosalyn Cantrell and Barbara Maddox; siblings, Andrew, Lilly, Grace, Eldora, MaryAnn, Clara, and Maggie.

Ruby received her education in Gillsville, Georgia and was a homemaker for many years. She also cared for many children in the Melrose community. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Gillsville Baptist Church. Later, she moved to Gainesville, Georgia and attended the Holiness Church. She always had a song on her heart and her favorite was “I Feel Alright!”

Ruby leaves to cherish her beautiful memories to her three children, Vicki Randolph, Jeffery (Latrice) Maddox, and Stacye Maddox; grandchildren, Paula, Justin, Victoria, Shamekkia, Brandon (Paige), Ashley, Amber, Shakayla, and Jalen; great grandchildren, Ryan (Jennifer) Cantrell, Malachi, Jenyseis, London, Jermiya, Tidas, Jalayziah, Lai’la, Jashiya, Destiny, and Jaxson; great-great grandchildren, Dre, Chyna, Chase, Andrew, and Ryder; and a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends. 

Graveside service will be held Thursday June 18, 2020 at 2pm at Alta Vista Cemetery. Viewing will be held Wednesday June 17, 2020 from 2pm-7pm. The family will receive family and friends from 5pm-7pm.
