Kenneth Allan Douglass, 84, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on May 30, 2020. He was a loving husband to his wife Rose Mary and proud father of Cindy, Ken and Mary Beth. Born in Brownsville, PA, to Edgar Lawrence Douglass and Marjorie Adele (Scott) Douglass. Ken grew up in Duquesne PA the third son of five children. He joined the service after high school in 1953 and served in the Korean War as an Army SP3. He met and married his wife Rose Mary in 1962. They settled in Duquesne, PA where Ken rose to Captain of the Duquesne Police Department. In 1979 Ken moved his family to Lilburn, GA and continued his career in sales with US Steel. He retired from Metal Coaters of GA in 2002 and moved with Rose Mary to Cumming, GA. There, they became active members of their church, St. Brendan Catholic Church. He and Rose Mary enjoyed socializing as part of the senior’s group where they made many dear friends. Ken was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, joining the organization in 1959 and rising to the level of Forth Degree. He also served with the Tinkers who kept the church and its grounds maintained and beautiful. During retired life, Ken and Rose Mary took every opportunity to travel and see the United States and the world. They loved spending time with their children, grandchildren and friends celebrating and making wonderful memories.
Ken is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Mary Douglass and his son, Kenneth Valent Douglass; grandsons Robert Nicholas Johnson, Ryan Michael Holland; brothers Thomas Douglass (Rose), Donald Douglass (Elsie), John Douglass (Pat); He is survived by his sister Alice Irwin, loving daughters, Cynthia Bates and Mary Beth Douglass; daughter-in-law Lesley Douglass; grandchildren Christina Holland, Tiffany Wade (Logan), Jessica Douglass, Sean Douglass Scott Douglass; great grandchildren Paige and Payton Wade as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 4 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040. Mass will be held on Friday, June 5 at 11:00 am at St. Brendan Catholic Church with burial to follow at Eternal Hills Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, we ask that only immediate family attend the mass and burial.
