Winford Paul Cheeks Jr. affectionately known as “Paul”, “Round Man” or “Winky” was born in Gainesville GA on September 16th, 1948. He was the eldest child to be born to the late Myrtle Ramsey and Paul cheeks. Paul depart this journey for his ultimate reward on June 2nd, 2020 after an illness.
Paul was part of his community on so many levels. He was raised by his grandmother Annie Mae and JP. Throughout his school years he was very athletic and learn to become a great father at a young age after fathering his 4 children Terry Brownlee, Nesgla Turner- Thrasher, Eric Turner, and the late Ronnie Buffington. Paul was a member of the social club and “THE ESQUIRES” which was a welcoming part of the community Winford was a dedicated worker for Peachtree doors in primate plastic for many years.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Myrtle Ramsey, Paul Cheeks Sr., grandparents Annie Mae & JD Ramsey and a host of others.
Winford was married twice in his life his first wife was Diane Hood his second wife was Mary Louise Evans. He also had a special friend Ms. Bobby Jean Woodruff. He loved and cared for everyone, those who knew Paul well knew he live a very carefree life and enjoyed every minute of what life offered.
Paul is survived by his children Terry. Neglsa, and Eric. His sisters Jackie “Jack Jack” Mize, Betty Gail Lipcomb, Regina Hornsby, Runsay Ellis, Andre Cheek Castleberry, Adondra Little. Brothers Andrew Paul Jr., Samuel Wilmont. Grandchildren Ashley & Aston Castleberry, Tasha Dunahoo, Xavier Summer, Omariamour, Elijah & Rayna Turner, Josh& Jazzmin Buffington and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
The visitation for Mr. Cheeks will be Friday June 5 at Wimberly Funeral Home from 12-7pm. Mr. Cheeks service will be Saturday June 6 at Calvary Gardens at 1pm. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
