Richard A Mechler was born June 12, 1934. He was raised in Victor, NY and later moved to Webster, NY. He worked for Mobil Oil for 18 years as a driver and then as a supervisor. He was active in his church as a choir director, youth leader and Deacon. He and his wife of 65 years, Sylvia moved to Florida in 1978 where he worked for Pinellas County. He enjoyed his retirement in Florida and moved to Georgia in 2010 to be closer to family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, including his daughter, Julie, son in law, John 2 grandchildren, Nick and his wife, Ashley, and Natalie, 3 great grandchildren, Olivia, Clark and Isabella.
He was especially happy to have 4 generations of the family together. He will be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather. He was an especially kind and joyful person.
He went to be with the Lord May 28, 2020.
A Memorial Service will be held on at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church, 1475 Winder Hwy, Flowery Branch, GA 30542.
