Vernell Doretha Sweat

Mrs. Vernell Doretha Sweat, age 91, of Cornelia passed away Monday, May 25, 2020 at The Oaks at Scenic View.

Graveside Services will take place at a later date.

Mrs. Sweat was born January 8, 1929 to the late James Nolan & Leona Thrift Dixon in Waycross and was the last surviving member of 8 children.  She was retired from Southern Bell, where she had been a Switch Board Operator.

Mrs. Sweat is survived by her sons, Mike & Julie Sweat of Cornelia and Tim Sweat of Flowery Branch; 3 grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Austin Sweat.
