Jack Gilbert

Jack Gilbert, age 83, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-two years, Opal Bailey Gilbert; and grandson, Kyle Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his children, Mary Ann and Joey Sanders, Bethlehem, GA, Ralph E. and Ivy Gilbert, Buford, GA, Randy Gilbert, Gainesville, GA and Angelia Moon, Gainesville, GA; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; step children, Tracy and Lynne Alford, Cumming, GA, Tony Alford, Gainesville, GA, Jim and Marsha Alford, Taylors, SC, Tim and Kristi Alford, Covington, GA, Michelle Collins, Cumming, GA and Melinda Pratt, Cumming, GA; and twelve step grandchildren. Mr. Gilbert was born May 30, 1936 in Atlanta, GA. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Germany as a Military Policeman. He was a retired driver from Norcross Supply Company. Mr. Gilbert was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Cary Pittman officiating. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 27^th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
