Dorothy Robinson Hethcox Nix

Mrs. Dorothy Robinson Hethcox Nix, age 92, of LaGrange, passed away on May 22, 2020 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice. 

Mrs. Nix was born on September 12, 1927 in Hogansville, Georgia to the late Archer Monroe Robinson and Jessie Clyde Strickland Robinson.  She worked for many years for the State of Georgia in the Tag and Title Division and a key-punch operator and attended Old Pathway Baptist Church in LaGrange.  Mrs. Nix also sold Avon for several years in the Gwinnett, Barrow counties and throughout Atlanta. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Hethcox of Troup County and her second husband, Jerry R. Nix of Auburn, Georgia.  Mrs. Nix has six sisters and three brother, six of whom are younger than her.  Survivors include her sons, Jim Hethcox and his wife Janice and Steve Hethcox and his wife Diane; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Old Pathway Baptist Church, 350 South Davis Road in LaGrange with Pastor Sam Mitchell and Assistant Pastor Jim Hethcox officiating.  Family will receive friends on Sunday at the church beginning at 1:00 pm.  Per the family’s request and following state mandates, social distancing will be honored at the visitation and service.  The family further request protective mask to be worn at the service and visitation.  If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. 

Further visitation will be held on Monday, May 25, 2020 at the Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, Georgia from 6-8 pm with social distancing guidelines.  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 12:00 noon EDT at the Auburn City Cemetery, Auburn, GA.
