Marie Sargent Butler

Mrs. Marie Sargent Butler, age 85 of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Memorial services are scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2020 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Reverend Pierce Ashmore will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 24, 2020 from 1:30 – 3:30 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Butler was born May 10, 1935 in New Holland, Georgia to the late Claud Sargent and Lena Adams Sargent.  She retired from Charles W. Smith Law Office and was of the Pentecostal Faith.  Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph Butler, her three brothers, Marvin Sargent, James Sargent and Doug Sargent and her granddaughter, Jamie Baker.       

Mrs. Butler is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Shelia & Phillip Jones of Gainesville and Lisa & Ricky Clark of Gainesville, her grandchildren, Alyson Baker, Ashley (Jesse) Adkins and Christine (Mark) Mitchell, her great-grandchildren, Kaydance Self, Isabella Self, Connor Self, Graye Adkins, Karma Golden, Camilla Golden and Lillah Mitchell, her sister & brother-in-law, Mary Ann & Wayne Chambers of Arizona and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
