They had 2 children, daughter, Tracie Wright (Lee) and son, Eddie Hyatt (Danielle). He has 4 grandchildren, Kyle, Elizabeth, Alec, and Ethan. He is survived by his brothers Richard Hyatt and Ted Hyatt (Melinda), and his sisters, June Chandler (Buford), Carolyn Woods (Mickey), and Ann Ingles. He was also preceded by his mother and Father- in- love, Bertis Farmer, sister-in-love Betty Hyatt, as well as his brothers-in love Kenneth Farmer and Larry Farmer.

Joe was a life-long builder and master plumber. He ran a successful business for more than 45 years and was respected by many working in some capacity up until the end.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying immensely hunting, fishing, and golfing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time at deer camp. He never met a stranger and had many life-long friends. People always remember his smile and laughter. He loved life and loved adventures. He loved to travel and wanted to have a group of people enjoying it with him at all time. He was always planning that next trip. Cruising was his favorite vacation unless it was a hunting trip.  But most of all, Joe loved his family. His greatest joy was spending time with them.
