Glenson Swafford, 97, of Kennesaw passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born January 2, 1923 to the late Carl and Mae Swafford, he lived most of his life in Dawson and Pickens Counties. For many years he worked as a heavy equipment operator after which he operated a poultry farm until his retirement. Glenson was of Baptist faith and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II where he served in the Pacific Theater. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Swafford; daughter, Jean Marlowe; daughter in law, Eleanor Swafford; son in law, Bob Eubanks; sisters, Cleo Bruce, Lois Chumley; brother, Max Swafford; grandson, Greg Marlowe.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene Swafford, Kennesaw; children, Gerald Swafford, Marble Hill, Joyce and Jerry Daniel, Kennesaw, Sharon Eubanks, Acworth; sister, Eunice Chumley, Ellijay; grandchildren, Beth and Brent Covington, Mike Daniel, Tim and Yee Daniel, Chris Daniel, Scarlett and Jeff Boyle; numerous great grandchildren and other relatives.
The family will hold private funeral services with Rev. Stephen Davis, Rev. Andy Wallace and Rev. Jason Hamby officiating. Mr. Swafford will be interred at Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery.
