James (Eight-days) Edward Collins- also known as (Ed-Ed) was born August 9, 1951 to the late L.C. Collins, Sr. and Vidalia L. Collins in Gainesville, Ga. Ed-Ed attended E.E. Butler public schools. He was employed by Northeast Georgia Medical Center for many years, participating in their auxiliary softball league. He departed this life on Saturday May 16 following an extended illness. He is proceeded by his loving parents, sister; Carrie Mae Jackson, brothers; L.C. Collins Jr., Tracy Collins (Slick), and sons; James E. Collins II (Tito) and Shaun Collins (Shaun-boy).
He is survived by his daughter; Tasha Clark, sons; Demond Leverette and Travis Montague. He is known to have produced 5 children throughout his lifetime. He additionally leaves to cherish a sister; Deborah E. Collins and brothers; Jerry (Anna) Collins and Gregory Collins (Buster), all of Gainesville. Carolyn Young, one of Ed-Ed’s favorite and special nieces will hold closely in her heart countless memories, as she took him in becoming his caregiver and best friend. He leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces/nephews, great-nieces/great-nephews.
