Maxine Burrell Tench

Maxine Burrell Tench, age 79, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020.

Ms. Tench was born on August 31, 1940 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late John Robert and Emma Meeks Burrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas "JT" Tench; brothers, Obra Burrell, Ralph Burrell, Ray Burrell, Carold Burrell; and sister, Ruth Andrews. Ms. Tench retired from Ethicon with 34 years of service. She was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church. Maxine was known to her grandchildren as "Grannie" and was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Andy Jackson, of Cornelia; Misty and Chris Dover, of Clarkesville; step-daughters, Susan Jones and Chris, of Homer, Carol Tench, of Elberton; grandchildren, Dylan Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Brandon Dover, Hank Jones, Morgan Pritchett, Tyson Baxter, Jackie Baxter; four great-grandchildren.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the Level Grove Cemetery with Dr. Brian James and Rev. Terry RIce officiating.
