Sherman G. Neese, Jr

Sherman G. Neese, Jr., 80, of Flowery Branch, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville from an extended illness.

Sherman was born on March 4, 1940 to the late Sherman G. Neese, Sr. and Lois Blair Neese.  He grew up near Evergreen, Alabama before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps working on fighter jets.  Following his military service he worked at Lockheed and a number of commercial airlines, ultimately retiring from U.S. Air.  He had a real talent for fixing things and helped many people during his lifetime.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Ona Crumley Neese; his sisters, Mary Neese Morris of Saraland, Alabama and Patsy Neese Kesler of Greensboro, North Carolina.  Sherman is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Paul and Becky Neese of Flowery Branch, and grandson Brandon Neese of Warner Robins, Georgia.  He also leaves behind many dear friends in Villa Rica, Georgia where he lived in retirement.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Northeast Georgia Medical Center and the wonderful Hospice NGMC team in Gainesville.

A graveside service will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date.
