Linda Sue Deal Cheek

Mrs. Linda Sue Deal Cheek, age 77 of Luckie Street, Lavonia, Georgia passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Duncan Oren Deal and Ruth Meeks Deal, she was born May 18, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Franklin County. She was employed in food service management and was a member of Price Chapel Church of God. She loved her family, loved gardening and loved her dog. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Brooks, by two brothers, Kenneth and O’Neal Deal and by a sister, Annette Smith.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Joiner of Lavonia; two sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Joni Powell of Commerce, Georgia and James Brock of Washington, D.C.; four grandchildren, Brittany Joiner, Alexis Joiner, Anna Kate Powell and Shan Segars; brother, Tyrus Deal of Swainsboro, Georgia; sisters, Jewell Powell of Toccoa and Charlie Bailey of Greer, South Carolina.

A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
