On Sunday May 3rd Dana Barclay passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Dana was a very active member in the community including singing in the choir at Grace Episcopal Church and enjoyed being part of the flower guild there. She established the first women’s investment club in Gainesville. Dana was also a member in a local garden club, strong tennis player with ALTA and USTA, and an avid reader.
Dana was a kind, loyal and fun-loving person. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was always there to brighten the lives of others with her warm smile and infectious laughter. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew her.
Dana is survived by her husband of 39 years Joseph, son Alexander, sister Ellen, brother Buck, and dogs Scout and Shadow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association - A Ride to Remember in South Carolina or Grace Episcopal Church in Gainesville.
