Mr. Tommy David Haynes, 55, of Carnesville, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Lavonia following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Tom Kennedy and Rev. Andrew Hudgins will officiate. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery in Lula. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 4, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Due to the current pandemic this will be a drop in visitation with a maximum of 10 people in the parlor at any time.
Born on November 11, 1964 in Gainesville, he was the son of Y.D Haynes and the late Mattie Mae Brown Haynes. He was employed with Olympic Oil where he was a maintenance worker and a truck driver. Mr. Haynes was a member of Pond Fork Baptist Church. He attended the Southern Sundays Church in Carnesville and sang in the gospel group God’s Touch.
Mr. Haynes is preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Mae Haynes.
Mr. Haynes is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sullens Haynes of Carnesville; daughter and son in law, Anita and David Hightower of Waynesville, NC; son, Mark Grizzle of Lula; daughter, Chrissy Ayers of Waynesville, NC; daughter and son in law, Amanda and Tom Kennedy of LaGrange, GA; father, Y.D. Haynes; 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a number of other relatives.
